GPX View

View a GPX file online

Drop a GPX or TCX file: it opens right here, with its map, its elevation profile and its figures. No account to create, nothing to install.

Your file never leaves your device

Everything happens inside the browser: reading the file, the calculations, the drawing. Nothing is uploaded, nothing is kept, no server ever sees your track. Close the tab and nothing remains of it.

How it works

  1. Drop

Take the file you were sent by email, downloaded from a route website or exported from your watch. The browser opens it itself.

  2. Look

The route, the elevation profile, the distance and the ascent appear. The figures are computed exactly as the app computes them.

  3. Keep

This page shows a route; it does not keep it. To find it again tomorrow, and follow it with no signal, you need the app.

What this page cannot do

A browser does not walk down a valley with no signal. GPX View keeps your routes and your maps on your phone, guides you along the way and records where you go — still with no account.

Common questions

Is my file sent anywhere?
No. It is read by your browser and never transmitted. You can even cut your connection once the page has loaded: reading a file still works.
Do I need an account?
No, neither here nor in the app. There is no account to create, so nothing to remember and nothing to delete.
Which formats are accepted?
GPX and TCX, the two formats the app opens as well. A TCX file exported by a watch or a bike computer needs no conversion first.
Does it work on a phone?
This page works on a phone too. To open a route beyond network coverage and follow it along the way, the app is what it is for.
